Jay Kopecky, Lorie Lejeune, Robert Willis Honored For Driving Veterans Van

Three long-time Hope residents were recently honored for their years of service in driving the Veterans Van to the Little Rock V.A. Lorie Lejeune was honored by the Department of Veterans Affairs for 1,926 hours carrying local veterans for medical treatment in Little Rock. Robert Willis was honored for 958 hours of service driving the Veterans Van.

Jay Kopecky was not only honored for thousands of hours driving the Veterans Van but he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden. Kopecky lives in a Veterans Home in Central Arkansas and couldn’t attend the presentation in person. Hempstead County Veterans Service Officer Donna Rosenbaum picked up the award for Kopecky and presented it to him.

Our congratulations go to these outstanding volunteers who have donated so much of their time to ensure local veterans can travel to the Little Rock V.A. to receive the medical care they need.
