One Killed In Two-Vehicle Accident In Hope

44 year old Lijiah Smith of Hope died Thursday in a two-vehicle accident on US 278 and the bypass Thursday around 8:15pm.  According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2000 Chevrolet apparently turned in front of a motorcycle driven by Smith and the vehicles collided.  The report noted coniditions were clear and dry.  Smith’s body was held at the Hempstead County Morgue.  The accident was investigated by Trooper Brock Neathery of Arkansas State Police Troop G.
