Three killed in Little River County crash

OGDEN – Three people are dead and one injured in a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Little River County town of Ogden.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, a 2023 Toyota Tundra driven by Matthew West, 34, of Shreveport, LA, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 71 South near Ogden. A 2017 Ford Transit van was pulled over on the west shoulder of Highway 71 South. The Tundra traveled onto the right shoulder, striking the van, and killing a man on the shoulder of the roadway and two passengers in the Tundra.

State Police say Christopher Robinson, 34, of New Boston, TX was outside the van helping change a flat tire. He was killed along with Carrie Flynn, 61, and John Hucke, 65, both of Shreveport, who were passengers in the Tundra. West was transported to Christus Saint Michael Hospital in Texarkana.

The crash occurred at 4:32 pm Wednesday. The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 pm by Little River County Coroner Chas Davis. State Police Corporal David Hamilton investigated.
