Landfill dozer dedicated to Gourley

PRESCOTT – A new Caterpillar bulldozer was dedicated in the memory of former Nevada County Landfill operator Wayne Gourley.

The ceremony was held at the landfill Thursday morning with members of the Nevada County Quorum Court, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, elected officials, county workers, landfill workers and family members on hand. Nevada County Judge Mike Otwell said Gourley was looking for this for a long time, and it was unfortunate the money came available for the purchase after he had died. The dozer cost $312,000 and was purchased from Caterpillar.
