Gentry hosting book signing July 20

HOPE – Local up-and-coming children’s author, Jennifer Gentry has released her new book, “Shoes On” to rave reviews. Jennifer, a proud resident of Hope, Arkansas, has created an adorable story that brings laughter to children and parents alike through her relatable but creative book.
“Shoes On” was inspired by Jennifer’s own experiences as a stay at home mom, as well as her time spent working in an elementary school. It tells the story of the imaginative Little Bean, and his patient mom as they get ready to leave the house. As Gentry said, “This book is for all the parents who have repeatedly begged their children to put on shoes, and for every child who has ever said ‘yes’ and immediately done something else.”
“Our family loves to read together. We have an entire wall of books in our home and even still, we bring back a bag full from the library every single week. I guess all those stories of llamas and pigeons found their way into my heart, because I suddenly found myself dreaming of one day writing my own. I wanted to create something that makes families laugh together the way Willems and Dewalt do. One night, while my daughter was in dance class, I just sat down and started. Watching my husband and kids read the scribbled first draft that evening, well, I’ll never forget it. It sealed the deal for me. Now, here we are, months later, and I have a real book to share with other families.”
Gentry will be at the Hempstead County Library on July 20 at 3:00pm for her debut book signing. Everyone is welcome and books will be available for purchase that day. Bring your kids early, as the library will also be hosting another one of their wonderful summer programs, Zoofari, at 2:00pm. Gentry’s book “Shoes On” is also available for sale on her website JenniferGentryBooks.com or as a Kindle ebook on Amazon. In fact, the ebook version became a number one best selling new release only 24 hours after it was launched.
