Assistant Dist. Gov. visits Rotary

PRESCOTT- Kim Hunter, assistant district governor for Rotary, visited Prescott’s Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon.
The purpose, she said, was to get to know the club members and what the local club is doing. Hunter said she and the Rotary Gov. will be back on Sept. 19 when he governor will address the club.
She was told of the fundraisers held by the local club, and how it gives laptops to graduating seniors each year. She was also told the club will be holding quarterly fundraisers from now on. “I’m glad to be here,” Hunter said, “and meet everyone. I’m from Magnolia, and joined after my children were grown as it was time to give back.”
Hunter talked about fundraisers the Magnolia club has, including a pancake breakfast with the proceeds going to buy dictionaries for every student in the third grade in Magnolia schools.
She was told the Prescott club was the only one to have 100 percent participation in the Polio Plus campaign and received a banner for its efforts.
