Huck Plyler Receives Honors, Donation From Veterans of Foreign Wars District 10 for Military Care Package Project

From the “Huck’s Military Care Package Project” facebook page…
What an amazing Saturday we had today. We had the pleasure of meeting with all of District 10 at the VFW in Camden. Huck was asked to attend as a guest speaker, to meet all the veterans and talk about his project. Huck spoke on how his project started at the age of six and how much it has grown over the years with the help of many friends, family and community support. He told them stories of meeting fellow soldiers, veterans and making many memories throughout the years.
At the meeting Huck got to visit with many veterans from different areas around Ark and Tx. These veterans served in all different branches of the military and understand better than anyone what it means to have a box of essentials when you’re far from home. Huck received a set of “wings” from a gentleman that served as a paramedic in the war and received a coin that says, “Born on the crest of the wave…rocked on the cradle of the deep.” 1893 from Mr. Chief that served in the Navy. Also Camden post 4554 made Huck an honorary member of their Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. They also provided him with a shirt and plaque to tell him thank you for all he dose for the men and women in our military.
But the real thank you goes out to all the District 10 veterans that made donations to Huck They provided a grand total of $830.00 for Huck’s Military Care Package Project to ship more boxes out. Looks like we have more shopping and packing to do.
Anyone who would like to help Huck Plyler of Spring Hill with his military care package project can visit the facebook page or contact his parents, Caleb (Cooter) and Briana Plyler.
