FUMC hosts back-to-school bash with concert from Rachel Hale

PRESCOTT – A back-to-school bash hosted by the First United Methodist Church didn’t draw a large crowd Friday evening because of the extreme heat. Still, there were those who braved the near 100 degree temperatures to play games, chow down on hot dogs, pickles and plenty of snow cones.

However, the crowd showed up for the Rachel Hale concert, held inside the church. Hale, with her temporary guitarist Miles Brandon, entertained the audience with versions of some of Hale’s original songs, including, “A Little Heaven,” “Rainbow” and “Single Steps of Faith.”

Hale kept the audience going with her upbeat style, and got a request from one of the children in the audience who wanted to sing with her. Hale invited her up to the stage where they performed a duet. Hale informed the other children present she had a surprise for them – another singalong.
