Beckie Moore Tells Hope Kiwanis Club About “A Taste of Hope”

Hope Downtown Network Board Member Beckie Moore spoke to the Hope Kiwanis Club about “A Taste of Hope”, a fundraiser set for downtown on October 7th. The fundraiser will help the Downtown Network move forward in becoming more active with “Main Street Arkansas”. She explained how the Main Street Program works and where Hope is with Main Street. Moore also noted in 2017 when the group organized, vacancy downtown was at 63%. Now, vacancy downtown is only at 5%. Moore also noted Cherry Stewart’s longtime promote and support efforts for downtown.
Moore noted the “Taste of Hope” will be centered around the HUB and 16 restaurants and eateries will participate. Those who attend will get to enjoy “tastes” from each of the 16 participants. Each participating eatery will focus on their specialty and ticket holders can make as many trips back to their favorite participant as they want.
The emphasis will be on three tiers, “savor, invest, and revitalize”. Obviously those attending can savor the food and the vitality of downtown. Under “invest”, the HDN will hold a “speakeasy” in the Downtown Network building in the Tailgater’s/Capital Hotel block where mocktails will be available and the building will be decorated wihta “Great Gasby” theme.
Heather Clements of “The Studio” will have a photo opportunity with Tim McMullan’s 1932 Hudson Essex and an historic backdrop.
Participants will also be able to cast a vote on the next project for the downtown network. Also, there will be a fund-raising auction as well as music.
