Terrie James Brings Program to Civitan

The Hope Civitan Club heard from Terrie James, Staff Chair of the Hempstead County Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.  She told the club about the departments and activities of the Cooperative Extension Service, as well as inviting them to enjoy the Hope Quilters Guild Bi-Annual Quilt Show, held October 13 and 14 in Hempstead Hall on the UAHT campus.  She said the Quilters Guild, a project club under the Extension Service, has 30 members and 130 quilts would be on display.  On the subject of quilting, James also explained the opportunity for Hempstead County to develop a quilt trail of painted quilts to be installed along public traffic routes and connecting to other county quilt trails throughout the state.  James (left) and Civitan President Mona Still are pictured displaying a quilted wall hanging.
