Hope Lions Hear From Carter Wilcox on Effort to Buy Books for Clinton Primary Students

Clinton Primary 3rd grade Carter Wilcox told the Hope Lions Club Monday about “Carter’s Class”. This is an initiative that raises money to allow Clinton Primary students who normally can’t purchase a book at the annual Scholastic Book Fair to buy a book there. There are buckets around town to collect funds. There will also be a bake sale at the HUB Saturday from 10am until 11:30am. Local author Jennifer Gentry will be selling and signing books there. After the holidays, Wilcox says they will be working with Martin’s on a t-shirt fundraiser. Everyone is encouraged to come out to the bake sale Saturday and also to drop your change in the buckets in Hope businesses that are gathering funds for “Carter’s Class”. Scholastic is also working to match funds that Carter raises.
