Rev. Rob Spencer to Speak at First United Methodist Church of Hope


Rev. Rob Spencer will be the guest pastor at First United Methodist Church of Hope Sunday, November 19. First United Methodists meet at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm in Hope.
Rev. Spencer is a former pastor of FUMC in Paris, Texas, and has been a United Methodist Church pastor in North Texas for 30 years and a resident of Lamar County for ten years. During that time, he has served the community in secular and non-secular ways, intentionally seeking ways to connect the community inclusively.
These connections became the backbone of Cultiv8Community, which he helped launch in 2022, according to his biographical information. Rob is passionate about addressing rural poverty. He believes in connecting neighbors and communities, supporting them as they use their unique strengths and insights to identify challenges, find solutions, and bring resources to the table.
Rev. Spencer says he has always had a love for the outdoors and loves to help others connect with nature. He is married to Celeste, and they have three children and one grandchild.
