Drury Hoover Honored By Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank

Hope resident and volunteer extraordinaire Drury Hoover is pictured holding the beautiful crystal award she recently received from Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank.  Mrs. Hoover was presented the Andrea Darby Lifetime Achievement  Award for her volunteer service to the Regional Food Bank starting in 2012.  Mrs. Hoover said she goes to the Food Bank in Texarkana every Monday to help sort and shelve food items which are then distributed to area food banks and to area residents needing food.
On top of that, Mrs. Hoover — a retired teacher — is coordinator, at age 87, of the food pantry and food give-away conducted every third Wednesday in Hope by Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of Hope In Action.  Congratulations to Mrs. Drury Hoover for an award she certainly deserves.
