Glenda Graham

Glenda Sue Graham, 52, of Hope, AR, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born in Gurdon, Arkansas, on June 9, 1971, to Glen and Barbara Graham.  She passed away at home, surrounded by her mom, Barbara and good friend, Dana. In her final moments they played Glenda’s favorite songs and spent time talking to her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jessie and Helen Woodall, grandmother Theidus Lindsey, and her father Glen.

Glenda is survived by her mom, Barbara, one sister, Gena Micu, of Deer Lodge, Montana, many nieces, and nephews, one brother and wife, Franklin and Shine Pennington of Willisville, AR, and one Uncle Jack of Colorado.

Glenda was active for many years in the Special Olympics in Arizona and loved bowling most of all, being a part of the “Shake, Rattle, and Bowl” team, coached by her mom. She graduated in 1993 from Chandler High School in Arizona. Then she went and worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Chandler for 6 years.  She left the workshop to help her mom care for her Grandma Helen (her Buddy).

Glenda was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. At the Walmart in Hope, AR, she would hug everyone she could and tell them that she loved them and was praying for them. Glenda would always say, in her own words, “I am a Christian. Me and God, we connect”, as she patted her chest and pointed up to the sky. When she was telling someone good-bye, she would say, “I have a song that I want to sing for you”, and it was always, “Amazing Grace”. Glenda touched so many lives with her great love for people and will be missed by many.
