Christmas Lights Make Hope Merry & Bright

Every year when this reporter rides around Hope taking pictures of Christmas lights, we tell ourself it’s all in the interest of getting photos for the news.  Well, we DO use them…but we also just like Christmas decorations!  Here’s several nice areas we’ve seen in the past week.

Every year one of the first lighting displays we check out is on East 6th.  Our picture does not do this home justice…it’s just an outstanding display!

Every year we always drive over to 9th and Laurel in front of Yerger Middle School.  There are always two homes that decorate extensively.

We have a friend that lives in the Strong addition that loves dogs.  He has two dog statues on his front porch.  He always does a good job decorating…and we always love seeing the dog statues wearing Santa hats!

For many years we’ve enjoyed the decorations on Pinecrest.  Mr. Gilbert Ross has continues his long-time tradition of decoarting.

Here’s another house in the Strong addition.  We think they’ve outdone themselves this year!

Oakhaven is truly beautiful at Christmas.  One reason is the fine work done by Les Patterson and his family.  This is just a small part of his display.

Here’s the front of Les Patterson’s house in Oakhaven.  Again, this is just a small part of his display!

This is another house in Oakhaven.  The guy that lives here is a real scrooge.  Fortunately, his next door neighbor is Les Patterson.  Not only does Les decorate his neighbor’s yard, he even gets Mickey and Minnie Mouse decorations which pleases the lady that lives here!

The above three photos are some more scenes of the Pinecrest addition.   Lots of folks over there have the Christmas spirit.

The above four pictures are of the Walker family display behind the Hope Methodist Church in the Lester addition.  Photos don’t do this display justice.  We hope you’ll see this and then go see for yourself!
