Randy Caldwell, Jr., Jimmie C. Smith, Clifton McDonald Arrested on Felony Charges

On Monday, December 18th, 2023, at approximately 4:20pm, Officers with the Hope Police
Department arrested Randy Caldwell Jr, 23 of Hope, AR for several shooting incidents that
occurred on 12/16/2023. Mr. Caldwell was arrested in the 400 block of North Ferguson Street
and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a
Firearm by Certain Person, Discharging a Firearm from a Vehicle (3 counts) and Terroristic Act
(37 counts). Mr. Caldwell was taken the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a
first court appearance.

On Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, at approximately 12:10pm, Officers with the Hope Police
Department arrested Jimmie C. Smith, 67 of Hope, AR. Mr. Smith was arrested in the 400 block
of Dairy Street and charged with Battery 2nd Degree. Mr. Smith was taken the Hempstead
County Detention Facility and held for a first court appearance.

On Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, at approximately 8:53pm, Officers with the Hope Police
Department arrested Clifton McDonald, 41 of Hope, AR. Mr. McDonald was arrested in the 700
block of East Greenwood Street and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Family/Household
Member. Mr. McDonald was taken the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first
court appearance.
