House Fire at 408 East 17th In Hope New Year’s Day

2024 didn’t get off to a good start for one Hope family New Year’s Day although things could have been much worse.  Firemen were called to a house fire at 408 East 17th in the Strong Addition about 5:15pm Monday.  It’s not believed there were any serious injuries although three juveniles were taken to the hospital to be checked out.  According to owner John Michael Phillips the fire started in the east end of the house and fortunately the family was in the west end of the structure.  He said he didn’t know the cause of the fire.  Firemen were on the scene over an hour.
