Updated: Search for man who fled traffic stop Sunday night

FULTON – Authorities are continuing to search for a man north of Fulton today after he fled into a pine thicket Sunday night after being involved in a chase.

Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton in a statement said Hempstead County Deputies, Arkansas State Police, and other law enforcement agencies are search for Thaddeus Ray Carroll in the 45oo Block of Highway 67 West.

Carroll and two other persons fled from the State Police Sunday night after a pursuit ended near County Road 1540 and 67 West.  Sheriff Singleton said the driver was taken into custody and a female surrendered a short time later. Both are in custody in the Hempstead County Jail.

Carroll fled into a wooded area where officers heard a gunshot. The search has continued today with the Arkansas Department of Corrections Dog Team from Malvern joining in.

Sheriff Singleton said Carroll is armed and considered dangerous. If he is seen, do not approach but call 911.
