Rotary chili supper Friday

PRESCOTT – Ticket sales for Friday’s Rotary chili supper are going well.

This was discussed at Tuesday’s Rotary Club meeting where it was said nine members will be making chili for the fundraiser and preparing for 150 people.

Tickets are still available at $10 each and can be bought from any club member. The meal will include cookies, crackers and water. It will be held at First United Methodist Church from 4-6 p.m.

Additionally, the club will be participating in the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Carlos Van Hook, director of the Prescott Parks and Recreation Department, was also on hand. He said the park will be handling concessions at baseball games this year to help raise money for the baseball program as it doesn’t generate much revenue.

He told the club it’s hard to find umpires these days, and the baseball fields are in bad shape and getting them repaired will be more expensive than he originally thought.

However, baseball season begins April 27 for the Little League program.

Van Hook said he’s also working to bring soccer to Prescott.
