Jefferson to speak at Oak Grove reunion
The NCTS/Oak Grove School Reunion is scheduled for Friday, July 5 thru Sunday, July 7, 2024. Brother Jeffers Jefferson will be the keynote speaker at the banquet on Sunday, July 7 @ 6:00 p.m. @ Nevada Schools in Rosston, Arkansas. State Senator Joyce Elliott was initially scheduled to speak, but fell ill unexpectedly. Reunion festivities will kick off on Friday (7/5) with a parade from Nevada Schools to the Oak Grove Community Center @ 10 a.m. The Reunion Picnic will be held at the newly remodeled Center on Friday (7/5) @ 1:30 p.m. The Reunion Ball will be held on Saturday 7/6 @ 8:00 p.m. center. The Reunion Banquet will be held on Sunday (7/7) @ 6:00 p.m. at Nevada Schools Cafeteria. The alumni committee is urging all NCTS/ Oak Grove alumni to attend.
Jeffers Jefferson was born in Ouachita County; he is the youngest of his five siblings born to Joseph and Charlene Jefferson. He is a 1983 graduate of Oak Grove High School in Rosston, Ar.
Jeffers attended Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas
He currently serves as the Senior Minister at South View Church of Christ in Magnolia, Arkansas where he’s Ministered the for the past 25 years. Minister Jefferson has been in ministry for the last 43 years. Jeffers is known for his expertise to educate, nurture and equip his congregants with life-changing lessons to navigate faith with sound values and biblical principles.
Throughout the years he has received numerous awards and recognitions. To name a few he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from SRS (School of Religious Studies), The Business or Industry of the Year Award from Chamber of Commerce, Outstanding Community Service Award from NAACP and others. Jeffers has a love for working in and serving his community.
He currently serves on many boards including SRS (School of Religious Studies); Board Chair for Star Investment; Committee Member for SWACDC’s Tobacco Prevention Program; A Lifetime Member of the Columbia County NAACP.
Outside of his church duties, Jefferson is a highly active member of the Columbia County community. He works and assist with many different organizations. He superintends weddings and funerals as needed. He is currently the owner and operator of Jefferson Garage Doors in Magnolia, Arkansas. He is also devoted father, son and life coach to many.
