Committee replaced destroyed buckles
PRESCOTT – When fire destroyed the Rothenberger home in Jan. 2022, two things lost were belt buckles won by Ainsley, 15.
She won the buckles at the Nevada County Fair for showmanship when she showed two hogs in consecutive years. This left her devastated, according to her mother Alexa. However, the Nevada County Premium Sales Committee, made up of Shane Meader, James Cannon, Stacey Stone, Dennis Guidry, Mary Godwin, Tara Carlton, Micah Sargent, Karen Hamilton, Eli Ratclifff and Drake Givens, voted to replace the buckles.
They placed the order with Caleb Plyler with Lone Star Belt Buckles and made the presentation Wednesday morning, much to Rothenberger’s delight.
This year, she plans to show a hog and lamb at the county fair and plans to go home with at least one more buckle. She is a member of the Prescott High School Future Farmers of America and has been a member of 4-H for four years.
