Mrs. Emma Keel Braggs

Emma Lee Keel was born July 31, 1936, to Leonard Keel and Beatrice
Keel in McCaskill, Arkansas. After the family moved to Hope, Arkansas,
she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Garrett Chapel Baptist
Church.
During her lifetime membership, she served as Sunday School teacher,
Baptist Training Union (BTU) teacher, Sunday School superintendent,
Vacation Bible School teacher, Southwest District Congress teacher and
finally Usher Board steward.
She was a born teacher through and through who loved listening to
hymns, reading, and studying the Bible.
Under the leadership of Dr. F. R. Williams, she was the announcer for
the church’s weekly radio broadcast on KXAR radio.
After retirement from Champion Parts, she took great pride in her
position as a weekend tour guide (another teaching opportunity) at the
Clinton Museum and Visitor Center in downtown Hope.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Leonard Keel and Beatrice
Keel; siblings, Frank, Georgia, Liddy, Rural, Betty, Shirley, Barbara, and
Floyd.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Gwen Edwards; grandson,
Damian Poole; special son, William Beene; sisters, Doris Brown,
Earnestine Burton Miller, Gloria Johnson; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 11-30-5pm Friday at the funeral home. Viewing will take place one hour prior to services Saturday. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, August 17 at Garrett Chapel Baptist Church, Hope, Arkansas. Burial will be at Scott’s Memorial Gardens in Perrytown.
