September 18, 1959 – August 28, 2024

Mrs. Clara Sue (Cornell) Koonts, 64, of Hope, Arkansas, formerly of Bradley, Arkansas passed away at Christus St. Michael Health System after a long-term bout with health concerns.  She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She loved to cook and spend time with her children, grandson, Colten and family.  Most importantly she was a child of God who dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and became a lifelong member of Ollie Mae Baptist Church of Bradley Arkansas.

Mrs. Koontz was born to the late Mr. Clarence Cornell and the late Mrs. Flossie Parker – Cornell On September 18, 1959, in Bradley, Arkansas.  She went on to attend and graduate from Bradley High School and attended some college courses that would prepare her for later life.  She became an employee of Tyson Foods in Hope, Arkansas and there until she retired, from there she became an employee of Rainbow of Challenges in Hope, Arkansas and remained there until she was forced to medically retire.  In both places she was a very valued and loved employee.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Mr. Clarence Cornell and Mrs. Flossie Cornell, three brothers, Mr. J.D. Cornell, Mr. Jack Cornell, and Mr. Charles Cornell.  She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Rev. Ronald Koontz of Fulton, Arkansas.  One daughter, Ms. Felicia Koontz of Hope, Arkansas and one son, Mr. Jason Koontz of Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Her only grandson, Colten James Henry Koontz.  Bonus daughter, Ms. Candis McWilliams.  Two sisters, Ms. Thelma Hicks of Texarkana, Texas and Ms. Lillie Banks of Fresno, California.  Brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Farris (Deborah) Koontz, Ms. Wanda Koontz all of Fulton, Arkansas, Mr. Joseph Koontz and Ms. Dorothy Gilliam both of Dayton Ohio.  Special friends, Ms. Trina Graves-Jacobs and Ms. Mary Post-Flowers.   A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers.

Her service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home Staff at 415 East First Street; Stamps, Arkansas 71860 where Pastor James Jackson will serve as Officiant and Eulogist.  A public visitation will be held on Friday September 6, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. in the Hamilton-Davis Chapel.  Interment will be immediately following the funeral service on Saturday afternoon at St. Mary Cemetery in Bradley, Arkansas.
