Hempstead County Election Results

It looks like Hope will be getting a new aquatic center, a number of improvements to Fair Park and North Side Park, and a new fire station.  In the three-part vote on the proposed city improvements, Hope voters voted for the Park and Recreational Improvement bonds 1,234 to 505 against.  For the .125% sales and use tax for maintenance on park facilities and aquatic center, voter cast 1,047 votes for and 688 against.  For the Fire Improvement Bonds to fund the new fire station. 1,270 voted for with 473 against.

In the race for District Judge for District 38, Dana Stone polled 3,008 votes in Hempstead County compared to 2,783 for Bryce Allen Montgomery.

In the State Representative District 88 race, Dolly Henley polled 4,089 votes compared to 1,588 for Tammy L. Goodwin.

In the State Senate District 4 race, Incumbent Jimmy Hickey, Jr. outpolled Lonny Mack Goodwin 612 to 258.

In the race for Justice of the Peace District 3, Incumbent Doris Brown polled 193 votes compared to challenger Karmel Kuhn with 65 votes.

In the race for Fulton Mayor, Incumbent Henry Hale received 47 votes compared to 18 for Tiffany Toliver.

In unopposed mayoral races, David Stallsworth won another term as mayor of Ozan, Kyle Sweat will become the new McCaskill Mayor, and Les Patterson will become mayor of Oakhaven.

Hempstead County voters voted for Karen Baker for State Supreme Court Chief Justice Position 1 3,394 compared to 2,059 for Rhonda Wood.

In the 4th District Congressional race, Incumbent Bruce Westerman polled 4,278 votes in Hempstead County compared to 1,601 for Risie Howard.

Hempstead County voters cast 4,106 votes for John Thurston in the State Treasurers race compared to 1,607 for John Pagan and 189 for Libertarian Michael Pakko.

On the Constitutional amendments, Hempstead County voted 4,999 for Issue 1 compared to 868 against.  On Issue 2, Hempstead County voted 3,331 for and 2,570 against.

In the presidential race, Hempstead County cast 4,193 votes for Donald Trump and 1,775 for Vice-President Kamala Harris.
