Hope Tourism Commission meets

HOPE – Hope Tourism Commission met this past Tuesday. Last month’s minutes were approved and the revenue and expenses were reviewed.

Permits and payments followed. The CJRW Travel Guide was approved. Last year the Tourism Commission spent a little over $11,000 on CJRW. The year before it was over $15,000.

The Porta Potty fees will be updated at an expected cost of $18,891.69.

A Veteran’s Memorial has been proposed for the Kopecky Property. The memorial would cost $60,000. The material will be granite, and a possibility is an eternal flame, flags, and seating. It was requested to be placed in the 2025 budget.

The 2025 budget will be presented in December

There was an update on Trunk or Treat and the ice rink. The ice rink this year will have a safety fence to go around it instead of the bales of hay. Viewpoint filming will happen on November 21st. A committee has been formed for the 150th Anniversary of Hope event. This event will take place on April 12th, 2025. The committee will meet on November 18th to begin planning.
