Huck Plyler Adds Two More “Purple Circles” to His Show Resume

Huck Plyer of Spring HIll, son of Caleb and Briana Plyler, added two more “purple circles” to his show resume on November 16th bringing his total up to eight purple circles.  He brought home the Champion Slick Steer award and the Champion Overall Bull award to secure these awards.

The purple circle awards were created in 1952 to further recognize exhibitors at the Arkansas State Fair with championship honors within their livestock projects.  Arkansas Power & Light (now Entergy) was the founding sponsor and remained as such for 53 years.

In 2005, sponsorship transitioned to the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation in order to continue the purple circle legacy.

The inaugural class of the purple circle had 38 inductees.  This year’s class consists of 205 awards being presented to 145 inductees.

Since its inception a total of 8,679 junior livestock exhibitors have received purple circle recognition.
