Mother Mildred Hill

God in His infinite wisdom called home to rest our dear mother on November 19, 2024 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.
Mrs. Mildred Stovall Hill was born on September 10, 1942 to the late Mr. Vandy Stovall, Sr. and the late Mrs. Myrtle Hill Stovall in Lake Village, Arkansas, also known as Macon Lake.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Almeta Missionary Baptist Church in Reedville, Arkansas. She was educated in the Reedville and Dumas School District.
In 1961, she relocated to Nashville, Arkansas to be with her husband, the late Mr. Nathaniel Hughes, to this union 5 children were born. After her relocation, she joined First Baptist Church, while there she served as President of the Usher Board.
Later after Mr. Hughes’ death, she married Mr. Charles Hill, to this union 2 children were born. In 2010, she joined Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ. She was a faithful church mother until her death.
Mildred was a hard and faithful worker at Tyson Foods for 25 years. She became disabled in 1994. She wanted to do something useful; she became a grandparent at the Headstart in Nashville in 2009, she retired from that in May 2024.
Preceding her in death are her mother and three brothers; her husband, Charles Hill; five children, Fred Stovall, Mary Nnaji, Sarah Pryor, David Hughes and Bobby Hill; two grandchildren, Lucian Pryor and Camile Pryor.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Gary Hughes of Nashville, AR; two daughters, Brenda Thomas and Lakesha Hill both of Nashville, Arkansas; two brothers, Roosevelt Stovall of Gould, Arkansas and Lloyd Huskey of Little Rock, Arkansas; four sisters, Dorothy Smith of Mitchellville, Arkansas, Maple (Dale) Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jo Anne Arrington and Mae Hawkins Coleman (Joey) both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Hill will lie in state one hour prior to service Saturday. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1210 South Front Street, Nashville, Arkansas. Burial will be at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Nashville. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
