Hope Lions Club 75th Annual Christmas Auction Set for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
(long-time auctioneer Don Honea is shown at a previous Lions Christmas auction)
The 75th annual Hope Lions Club Christmas Auction is set for this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (12-5, 12-6, 12-7) in Hope’s Fair Park Coliseum. The club will start each evening at 6pm. Thursday night’s auction will go until approximately 9pm while Friday should go later and Saturday’s auction will go until everything is gone.
The Hope Evening Lions will staff a concession stand featuring homemade favorites such as chicken & dumplins, homemade soup, chili, and sandwiches. They will also feature homemade pies, cakes, and cookies.
The proceeds from the Lions Auction go toward the purchase of Christmas food baskets for needy families in Hempstead County. Every year the club provides baskets for approximately 125 families. The leftover funds go toward local projects in Hempstead County.
The public is invited to attend the auction all three nights. Any merchant not contacted by the Lions Club who would like to donate an item (or items!) to the auction may contact any Hope Lion.
