Hope Lions Have Great Christmas Auction
The 75th annual Hope Lions Club Christmas Auction turned out to be a big success. At the club’s annual Christmas banquet, President Steve Atchley told the club preliminary figures show the auction raised more than $29,400. Club members gather thousands of items that were auctioned over three nights. The Evening Lions provided a concession stand filled with homemade food and desserts. Proceeds from the auction go towards packing and distributing around 130 food baskets for needy families in Hempstead County. Any remaining money will go towards local Hempstead County projects. The Lions appreciate the hundreds who turned out for the 3 day event and the hundreds of merchants throughout southwest Arkansas who provided items to be auctioned. This was the club’s 75th annual auction.
