Events Set in Hope to Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Holiday

A full slate of activities are set to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday this Saturday through Monday in Hope.  Events start on Saturday (1-18) at the Fair Park Coliseum at 800 South Mockingbird in Hope at 11am.  Events will include vendors and a “pop up shop”.  A fashion show is set for 2pm.  Music will be provided by DJ Lex.  The “Unique JFC Dawgs” food truck will be on hand and the Rising Star Dancers Team will perform.  Guest speakers will include Rev. Windall Ross and Tia Williams.

There are two church events set for Sunday (1-19).  An ordination service is set for Haynes Chapel Baptist Church on highway 32 east of Hope at 3pm.  At 6pm there will be a musical at the Providence Baptist Full Gospel Church on US 278 west of Hope.  The public is invited to both events.

Events on Monday include a “walk around” the Vander Lloyd Homes at 10am followed by a service at Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church at 819 East Hickory.  The public is invited.
