Washington City Council

The Washington City Council met on January 21st.  The Council seated a new member, Billy Nations.

The minutes and financial statements were discussed.  The city has had a drop in Tourism revenue.  The 2025 budget was discussed.  There was also talk of getting a census of the town.  Another topic was the city water.  It was mentioned that the water tower had overflowed, and they were going to get an engineer to fix the problem.

There was talk of where to schedule  future meetings.  It was decided to continue meeting at night and the council will meet at City Hall.

The Washington Fire Department was represented by Jon Barry. The main issue he mentioned was some confusion about where to send the fire dues.  Some of the issues were worked out, but some of the other issues were tabled for another meeting.
