Neladine “Nell” Burns Freeman

Neladine Burns Freeman, age 87, of Hope, AR passed away Wednesday February 5, 2025. Nell was born in Lewisville, AR to Ed and Cleo Burns. She met the love of her life, Harold Freeman, in Houston, TX, and they married on September 6, 1958.

Nell Freeman was a dedicated wife and Christian mother from early in her life. She spent 65 years of her life as a devoted minister’s wife, 58 of those years at Central Church of Christ south of Hope, AR. Plain and simple – she was the embodiment of Christ’s love to all. She raised two boys, fostered children, ran a daycare, and ALWAYS wanted her grandchildren with her – her “sugarplums.”  She was so much more to so many people. The endless friends and family she hosted in her home, meals cooked, meals taken to friends, driving others to doctors’ appointments, sharing her garden and flowers. You name it, she was there for her family, friends, church, and community, with a sincere and loving heart.

{“Matthew 5:16… In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”}

Nell was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Augustine Leubner (Harry), Delmore Burns (Toni), Elmore Burns (Andra), Wilburn Burns and Milburn Burns.

Nell is survived by her sons, Wayne (Sherre) Freeman of Hot Springs, AR, Ronnie (Rhonda) Freeman of Hope, AR; three sister-in laws, Verna Walling of Palestine, Texas; Sarah Burns of Stamps, AR and Ann Burns of Lewisville, AR. Four grandchildren: Leslie Jo (Trey) Tucker of Hot Springs, AR; Katie Nell (Jad) Dotson of Nashville, TN; Zane Freeman of Hope, AR; and Dillon (Niki) Freeman of Cale, AR. and seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
