David L. Fincham

David L. Fincham was born April 8,1951 in Houston, Texas. He passed away on February 17, 2025, at home in Hope, Arkansas.

David grew up in and around the Houston area before beginning work as a mechanic. For most of his career he worked in and around shipyards, sailboats and diesel mechanics, retiring as a Facilities Manager at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas. David was a quiet, hardworking man dedicated to his family and who cared for and was devoted to his animals. He and wife Michele have helped to rescue many animals in need during their time together.

He was predeceased by his mother Helen Fincham, and brothers, Dale Fincham and Donald Fincham, and his nephew Derrick Fincham.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Christie Fincham of Hope and his children, Sarah Mathews, Sharon Valles, and Ashley Fincham Brewer (Brady), and his stepchildren Dillon Reid (Natalie), Jennifer Patton (Zach), and Alece Kibler. He is also survived by his grandchildren Beau Mathews II, Laiton King, Kaitlyn Valles, Madison King, Savannah Valles, Nicole Valles, Nicholas Valles, Andrew Martinez, Cameron Minter, Brodie Reid, Townes Reid, Kaleb Kibler, and Rayven Kibler. He was a well-loved brother-in-law to Catherine Christie Cook, Alan Christie, and Marilyn Christie.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1 pm at First United Methodist Church of Hope, meeting at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Elm, Hope, Arkansas with Pastor Tom Mullins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Alzheimer’s Association, or an animal rescue organization. A Celebration of Life is planned in the Clear Lake, Texas area at a later date.
