Hope man arrested in multi-agency operation

TEXARKANA – On February 28th, 2025, the 8th South Drug Task Force obtained information about a shipment of methamphetamine that was coming into our community from California. The 8th South Drug Task Force, along with the 8th North Drug Task Force, 9th West Drug Task Force, and the local Federal Bureau of Investigation Office conducted a multi-day operation to intercept the shipment of methamphetamine.
On March 5th, 2025, the Task Force identified the location of the delivery. After the delivery of narcotics was made, the 8th South Drug Task Force, 8th North Drug Task Force, and 9th West Drug Task Force, Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on the residence of Prince Thomas, in Hope, Arkansas. Investigators (allegedly) seized 12 pounds of meth during the execution of this search warrant.
On March 11, 2025, the 8th South Drug Task Force, along with the FBI, continued to investigate the delivery of methamphetamine into our area. The 8th South Drug Task Force and FBI were provided information about another shipment of methamphetamine coming into the Texarkana area. In a joint operation they were able to intercept this shipment and seize the methamphetamine before it hit the streets of our community. As a result, the team was able to (allegedly) recover 3 pounds of meth and $2,310 in drug money and effect an arrest of Anthony Thomas, of Hope, Arkansas.
