Burn Ban Issued for Hempstead County

Hempstead County Judge Jerry Crane issued an executive order Wednesday (3-19) afternoon prohibiting all outside burning due to dry and windy conditions.  The burn ban is in effect until further notice.  Residential areas were being threatened due to out of control fires fanned by the heavy winds Wednesday afternoon.  Several neighborhoods were evacuated.
