Nevada School Board
The Nevada School District met on Thursday (4-17). After the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, there was a roll call. All were present.
Nevada Superintendent Roy McCoy talked about some changes for the schools in Arkansas. He said that there will soon be a law requiring students to learn firearm safety. McCoy also said there will soon be a ban on cellphone use in schools. Arkansas students will also soon be learning about the pitfalls of Communism. Recent legislation also passed which provides for free school breakfasts for students in Arkansas public schools. McCoy also talked about recent legislation passed in Arkansas requiring how the religious and moral beliefs of the USA’s founding fathers influenced how they established the U.S. system of government.
The school board approved the financial statements and March warrants.
The Nevada board approved the purchase of a school bus for $93,000. It was noted graduation will be May 12th. The meeting then adjourned.
