Michael Clinton Marks (“Mike”)

Michael Clinton Marks (“Mike”) passed away on April 21st, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on December 30, 1952, to the late Clinton and Elinor Marks.
He is survived by his siblings and their families: his brother Daniel Marks of Silver Springs Shores, Florida, his sister, Kay Garrett of Rusk, Texas, his nieces and their families: Melissa and James Leavins of Jacksonville, Texas, and Jennifer and David Lawson with great-grandniece Hayley and great-grandnephew Jamie of Longwood, Florida, and his nephew and his family: Chris and Tracy Shepard with great-grandnephew Chase of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Mike’s father served in the Air Force, which resulted in him living in Mississippi, Germany, Indiana, Texas and Florida in his youth. Mike would follow in his father’s footsteps, joining the Air Force in 1975. During his service, Mike was a Staff Sergeant, E5 who served as a medical lab technician. While in the Air Force, Mike was stationed in Texas, Arizona and South Korea. Mike was an alumnus of the University of Texas. He attended classes at the university’s flagship campus in Austin. Mike received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Our Lady of Lake University of San Antonio.
Mike was Catholic. In the past he attended Our Lady of Good Hope. Mike worked as a medical lab technician at Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Hope, Arkansas for over 35 years where he made many friends.
Mike’s passion in life was reading. While Mike’s taste was diverse, he particularly enjoyed graphic novels. Mike enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends – frequently and regularly writing handwritten letters to them. Mike also enjoyed eating out (in particular going out to eat steaks just like his mother), games related to war, listening to music, and a good laugh.
Mike was caring, dutiful to his family, kindhearted and always true to himself. Mike was always good to his family – never missing a birthday or a special event.
He will be dearly missed.
