Mr. Jimmy Wayne Hopkins

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Hopkins was the third child born to Londell and Helen Wilson Hopkins. He was born on September 8, 1953, in Nashville, AR. He departed this life May 26, 2025, at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital Texarkana, TX.

Jimmy started his education at Howard County High School, Tollette, AR. He continued his education at Mineral Springs High School and graduated in 1971. After graduating from school, he worked at Weyerhaeuser Co. in Dierks, AR for over 40 years.

Jimmy’s passion was hunting. He loved hunting squirrels and deer and he enjoyed fishing. When deer season rolled in, don’t look for him, because he was somewhere in the woods. He also loved to garden, and he continued to do that until his health failed.

Jimmy joined Graves Chapel Baptist Church which is now Roland Piggee Memorial Baptist at an early age.

Jimmy married Karen Heller in 1978. He later married Sandra Walton who preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by parents, Londell and Helen Wilson Hopkins, one brother Donald Hopkins and niece Taylor Hopkins.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his stepchildren who he loved as his own, Monica and Patrick McCrea, Terrell, TX, and Eric and Cozetta Walton, Lafayette, LA. Step-grandchildren, Kristopher Walton, Kameron Jefferson and Koby Jefferson all of Terrell, TX, Alexis Walton, and Aaliyah Walton, Nashville, AR. He has 8 step-great grandchildren. One sister, Bonnie Hopkins, Spring, TX and one brother, Bobby and Barbara Hopkins, Mineral Springs, AR. Also left to cherish his memory, his nieces, Kym and Harold Fisher, Spring, TX, Christal Williams, Texarkana, TX, nephews, Bobby Hopkins Jr., Lockesburg, AR and Justin and Briana Hopkins, Mineral Springs, AR. 10 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews. A host of cousins and other relatives. A special friend Rochelle Gamble.
