Watermelon Eating Contest returns to the 49th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival

HOPE – Get ready to dig in and show off your watermelon-eating skills! The Watermelon Eating Contest is back at the 49th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival, and it’s open to participants of all ages.

This juicy competition will take place on Saturday, August 9th at 12:00 PM on the Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center Stage at Hope Fair Park.

Participants will compete in three age divisions, with 1st through 3rd place prizes awarded in each. Plus, one lucky contestant will take home the title of Grand Champion for the fastest and most impressive performance of the day!

This crowd-favorite event is free to enter and always draws a fun, cheering audience—so whether you’re competing or just watching, don’t miss it!
