Learn more about STOP grant at National Night Out & Watermelon Festival

HOPE – The Hope Police Department is the recipient of a Stop Violence Against Women, or “STOP” grant focused on preventing and prosecuting violent offenses against women. HPD tasks one investigator, Det. Casey Singleton, to investigate all adult sexual assault, stalking and/or domestic violence committed within its jurisdiction. The investigator’s duties consist of compiling evidence-based case files to present to the appropriate prosecutors for prosecution of the offenders. This investigator acts as a liaison between the victims of these crimes, courts, victims’ services, and counseling services, answering questions and putting the victims in contact with the services they may need.
Det. Singleton will be present during National Night Out this evening at National Night Out at the Hope Fair Park pool from 6:00-9:00 pm with literature concerning his duties and will be available to answer any questions. Det. Singleton will also be present at the Hope Watermelon Festival on Thursday, August 7th, from 5pm-7pm at the Hope Police Department’s Command Post.
