July Weather Statistics for Hope, Cooler & Wetter Than Normal

July was plenty hot but it was cooler and wetter than normal according to the Southwest Research and Extension Center on highway 174 east of Hope.  The SWREC serves as the town’s official weather station.

The average air temperature for the month was 74.97 degrees compared to a normal average for Hope of 81.30 degrees.  Hope was 6.33 degrees cooler than the normal average.

Rainfall for July was 7.13 inches.  That compares to a normal July rainfall of 3.65 inches.  Hope finished the month up 3.48 inches over normal July rainfall.  The year-to-date rainfall at the end of July for Hope was 49.17 inches.  That compares to a normal average rainfall at the end of July of 31.86 inches meaning Hope is up a whopping 17.31 inches so far this year.

The high temperature was 98 degrees recorded on the last day of July.  The coolest temperature was 68 degrees recorded on July 4th.
