Kristie Lang: Building Community Connections in Hope, Arkansas

Hope, AR – In the heart of southwest Arkansas, few names resonate with community spirit quite like Kristie Lang. As Membership Coordinator for Pafford EMS, Lang serves as a vital link between residents and life-saving emergency medical services. Her role goes far beyond the offices—she’s a familiar face at local events like the Hope Farmers’ Market, where she and her team offer hospitality and support to vendors and visitors alike.
Lang’s professional journey is a story of adaptability and leadership. Before joining Pafford EMS nine years ago, she spent 15 years as a dental assistant with Dr. Lester Sitzes III in Hope, a role that connected her deeply with local families. She later transitioned into retail management, working with brands such as Gaudy Couture (after her time with Chico’s FAS) and Red Rock Resorts in Las Vegas, where she managed four stores. These experiences sharpened her skills in customer engagement and business development—skills she now uses to strengthen Pafford’s community presence.
Her current position comes at a time of growth for Pafford EMS, a family-owned, Christ-centered company with more than 2,200 team members. “We’ve seen tremendous expansion,” Lang says, noting the recent extension of services into Crittenden County. She encourages residents to learn more about membership benefits by emailing memberships@paffordems.com and invites everyone to stop by the Pafford medical tent at the upcoming Watermelon Festival.
Outside of work, Lang is a creative force. Through her personal venture, The Ruffled Wreath, she designs custom wreaths, saddles, and home décor pieces that reflect her artistic flair and love for beauty in everyday life. Her hobbies also include cruising in her Corvette with the top down and indulging in a little shopping therapy.
A lifelong resident of Hope, Lang’s roots run deep. Her father, Jerry Hollis, now 87, worked at JB Cook Automotive for 45 years and was an active member of the Evening Lions Club. Her mother, Sharon Hollis, worked as a Southwestern Bell telephone operator when Kristie was still at home growing up.
Lang has been married for 30 years to Andy Lang, a retired Las Vegas casino manager. The couple wed in Las Vegas in 1995 and share a passion for travel. “Work hard, but travel harder,” Lang says with a smile. This motto has taken her from the Florida Keys to the historic streets of Dublin, Ireland, where she marveled at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and reflected on her family’s Irish heritage.
Despite her love for exploring the world, Lang says there’s something special about coming home to Hope. “This community has given me so much,” she shares. “I just want to give back in every way I can.” Whether coordinating emergency services, crafting decorative pieces, or representing Pafford EMS at local events, Kristie Lang embodies the spirit of connection and care that defines Hope, Arkansas.
