Charges filed in June work-release escape in Hope

HOPE – A Texarkana man who allegedly walked away from a work release job in Hope June 4th was charged last week in Hempstead County Circuit Court with Second Degree Escape, a Class D Felony.

According to the court affidavit, work release inmate Antarian Wright, 30, of Texarkana was identified by surveillance video allegedly walking off the property of Hope Bakery toward 3rd Street (U.S. Highway 67.)

Precious White, 36, of Texarkana has been charged with being an Accomplice to Second Degree Escape, a Class C Felony in Hempstead County. According to the filing affidavit, Antarian Wright was considered an escaped inmate at 9:36 om June 5th when he left work. White allegedly left work at 10:00 pm with the affidavit stating she was allegedly suspected of picking Wright up down te road.

White’s vehicle was located at Beacon Hills apartments in Texarkana with two individuals matching the descriptions of Wright and White were allegedly captured by apartment surveillance footage leaving the car.

The affidavit stated a special agent with the Arkansas State Police called White at about 3:32 am, she reportedly answered, but quickly hung up. Two staff members of Arkansas Community Correction were watching White’s apartment when she allegedly left the apartment and got into her car about six minutes after the call from the state police agent.

Wright exited a short time after White, walking into a wooded area near the apartment complex, the affidavit stated. He was taken into custody later on the morning of June 5 in a wooded area off Arkansas Blvd. in Texarkana.
