Hope Downtown Network announces call for artists

HOPE – Hope Downtown Network is excited to release a Call for Artists (Request for Proposal) for an extremely unique art installation in Historic Downtown Hope. Thanks to the grant opportunity offered by the Division of Arkansas Heritage (DAH) Public Art Grant, Hope Downtown Network is now calling on local and statewide muralists who might be interested in submitting a proposal.

As noted on the Main Street Arkansas website, the Division of Arkansas Heritage’s (DAH) Public Art Grant Program assists Main Street communities and Downtown Network communities in enhancing the appearance of their environment by facilitating the collaborations necessary to build and strengthen an awareness and enjoyment of public art. The Public Art Grant Program assists communities that participate in the Main Street Arkansas program in the planning and implementation (including purchasing and commissioning works of art) of public art for places viewable by the public within the Main Street district and on gateways to Main Street districts.

Beckie Moore, Hope Downtown Network Executive Director further explained, “When the grant is awarded, Hope Downtown Network will collaborate with the selected muralist to ensure the grant project goals are met. The Request for Proposal (RFP) for artists is the first step in this multifaceted grant project.”
