Gracie Lee Cheatham Scroggins

Gracie Lee Cheatham Scroggins was born May 3, 1958, in Washington, Arkansas, and was called home Monday, September 22, 2025, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Gracie was the third of six girls born to the late Pearlean Cheatham. She attended Lincoln High School in Washington, Arkansas. After graduation, Gracie was united in marriage to the love of her life Solomon Scroggins Sr. on September 17, 1977. Soon thereafter, she began her career with Tyson Foods where she worked diligently for 45 years. Gracie recognized her love for Christ at an early age when she joined St. Paul CME Church in Washington, Arkansas, where she was a faithful member until her health failed.
More than anything, Gracie cherished her family, and each of them loved her just as deeply in return. Among her many joys in life, being a grandmother was one of her greatest. She loved her grandchildren immensely and enjoyed every moment spent babysitting and being with them. She was a true conversationalist that enjoyed talking on the phone to family, friends, and co-workers. She devoted countless hours talking with them, catching up, sharing stories, and checking in on those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlean Cheatham, and sister, Pamela Evans.
She leaves to cherish a devoted husband, Solomon Scroggins Sr. of Ozan, AR, who stood by her side and cared for her until the very end; two sons and one daughter; Stanley (Stephanie) Cheatham of Irving, TX, Solomon (Ratisha) Scroggins Jr. of Bryant, AR, and Sasha (Isaiah) Shorter of Texarkana, AR; eight grandchildren; Jenyia, Norvellus, Okoye, Quindarren, Tony, Samarie, Sanaa, and Zavyn, one great granddaughter, Jalani; four sisters; Janet Conway, Ethel Scroggins, Annette Cheatham, Vera (Willie) Walker and Wanda “Penny” (Wade) Howard; aunt-in-law, Georgia Sampson of St. Louis, MO; Special friend, Jean ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
