Hope Bobcats tennis athlete advances to Overall State Tournament

HOPE — The Hope Bobcats Tennis team made a strong showing at the recent state tournament held in Clarksville, with standout performances across boys and girls doubles as well as singles play.
The boys’ doubles team and the girls doubles team both competed in the first round of the state tournament, with the girls advancing to the quarterfinals. Leading the way for Hope was senior standout Monica Bobo, who advanced all the way to the finals of the state singles tournament, earning the title of State Runner-Up for her classification.
With this achievement, Bobo has officially qualified for the Overall State Tournament, where the top players from across all classifications will compete. The Overall Tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday at Burns Park in Little Rock.
“This is a huge accomplishment for Monica and for our tennis program,” said Coach Rhodes. “Our teams played hard, supported each other, and Monica’s run to the finals has made us all proud.”
Bobo will face competitors from across the state in a single-elimination, win-or-go-home format, with four rounds standing between her and the overall championship title.
The Hope School District congratulates Monica and the entire Bobcats Tennis team on an outstanding season and wishes Monica the best of luck at Overalls.
