MSG Bobby D Hopkins Sr.

MSG Bobby D Hopkins Sr was the fourth child born to Londell and Helen Wilson Hopkins. He was born on September 8, 1953, in Nashville, AR. He departed this life October 13, 2025, surrounded by family at Hospice of Texarkana in Texarkana, TX.
Bobby joined Graves Chapel Baptist Church which is now Roland Piggee Memorial Baptist Church at an early age.
Bobby started his education at Howard County High School, Tollette, AR. He continued his education at Mineral Springs High School and graduated in 1971. After graduating from high school he attended Henderson State University where he became a Charter member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Later in life, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Texas A&M University Texarkana.
In 1975, Bobby joined the U.S. Army and served 4 years of active duty. He then joined the 2nd BN, 95th Div, 379th Regt, 7th Bde in 1979 and served faithfully for the next 26 years. He earned 3 Army Achievement Medals, 4 Army Commendation Medals, and a Meritorious Service Medal along with being recognized as Instructor of the Year and NCO of the Year during his years of service.
He met and later married the love of his life, Barbara Heller Hopkins, in 1979 and to this union 3 beautiful children.
He is preceded in death by parents, Londell and Helen Wilson Hopkins, two brothers Donald Hopkins and Jimmy Hopkins, and niece Taylor Hopkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Barbara Hopkins, Mineral Springs, AR; daughter, Christal Williams, Nashville, AR; 2 sons, Bobby D Hopkins Jr. Lockesburg, AR, and Justin (Briana) Hopkins, Mineral Springs, AR. 8 Grand Children; Ayanna Deloney, Paul Mitchell, Brooklynn Smith, Kaylen Hopkins, Jakylon Hopkins, Avyana Hopkins, Atlas Hopkins, Atalia Hopkins, and Chasmyn Hopkins. 2 Great Grand Children, Kadence Deloney and Kailani Ware. One sister, Bonnie Hopkins, Spring, TX. Also left to cherish his memory, his niece, Kym (Harold) Fisher, Great Nephew, Nicholas Fisher, Great Niece, Sydney Fisher, and Great Great Nephew, Amir Carson, all from Spring, TX, along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
