Hempstead County Quorum Court

The Hempstead County Quorum Court met on Thursday (10-23) for their regular monthly meeting. The meeting was kicked off with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Not all J.P.’s were there but there was a quorum. Last’s meeting’s minutes were approved.
Bonnie Raff of D.A.R. was present to tell the quorum court about the history of Dr. Seuss. She noted November 1st is World Reading Day. She handed out books for everyone to give to a young person.
The passing of Floyd Young, Jr. was noted. His service as Hope Mayor in the 1980’s was mentioned as was his service to the community and his career in education.
The meeting was then adjourned.
