Hope In Action on track for success with Union Pacific grant
HOPE – Hope in Action is the proud recipient of a Union Pacific Railroad Community Ties Giving Program grant, which will provide new, energy-efficient windows and doors for the Hope in Action transitional housing units.
Executive Director for Hope in Action, Paul Henley, stated, “Hope in Action is honored to receive a $5,000 grant from Union Pacific to replace our aging wooden windows and doors with new energy-efficient models. This generous support will enhance the comfort, safety, and sustainability of our transitional housing facility, ensuring a better living environment for the individuals we serve. We appreciate Union Pacific for its commitment to strengthening communities and for helping us continue our mission of providing hope and opportunity to those working toward stability and self-sufficiency.”
Union Pacific’s Community Ties Giving Program provides small and medium-sized grants that align with the railroad’s priority cause areas: safety, workforce development, community vitality, and environmental sustainability.
“Union Pacific is proud to support organizations doing the hard work on the ground to improve the quality of life for their communities, including those where our employees live and work across our 23-state network,” said Liisa Lawson Stark, Vice President of Public Affairs for Union Pacific Railroad. “Investments in high-quality nonprofits yield growth, prosperity, and well-being of the communities we serve.”
Founded in 1986, Hope in Action, a food pantry and transitional housing unit, supports individuals in overcoming barriers to food insecurity and housing. Through community partnerships and compassionate care, the organization empowers individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence.
