Tawana “Tia” Bass

Tawana “Tia” Bass was born February 22, 1983, to Lavada and Doris Bass in Hope, Arkansas. She was a proud graduate of Blevins High School class of 2001. She attended Power House COGIC at a young age, along with her mom and siblings. It was never a dull moment when you were in her presence, she was funny and full of life. Tia never met a stranger; she would talk to you whether she knew you or not. Her favorite thing to say was “I don’t discriminate.” Any time you saw her, she would always say what’s up CUH; whether you were her cousin or not. Tia was deeply loved by everyone she encountered.
At the age of 42, Tia transitioned to eternal life on November 2, 2025. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavada Sr. and Doris Bass; maternal grandparents, IV Sr. and Joann Wiley; paternal grandparents, Betty Jean and James Bass, Sr.; one brother, Lavada Bass, Jr.; one aunt, Maxine Taylor; four cousins, Tony Bradley, Rangy Taylor, Shranda Wiley and Shawn Hollis.
Tia leaves to cherish her memory four sisters, Latoya Bass of Hope, AR, Tiesha Bass, Shrenda Wiley (Lernelia Gamble), Shannon Watson of Nashville, AR; four brothers, TJ Thomas, Courtney Thomas, Robert Thomas all of Nashville and Orlando Swift of Ozan, AR; three nephews, Jacody Horton, Omarion Nunally and Davion Gamble; four nieces, Nastacia Horton, Chastity Ogden, Ashley Ogden and Destiny Gamble; aunts, Diane Marshall, Gloria Prater, Bonnie Bradley, Elizabeth Miller, Ethel Wiley, Mary Stuart, Annette Wiley, Lenora Jordan and Mary Hollis; uncles, Jerry Wiley, Perry Wiley, IV Wiley, Jr., Freddie Wiley, Leonard Wiley, Sherman Wiley, Willie Wiley, Mike Bass, Leroy Bass, Dennis Marshall and Michael Prater; special cousins, Trinnette Johnson, Kierra Taylor, Asia Harris, Chiquiah Harris, La’Trice Wiley, Monique Garland, Chiquita Bradley, Stephanie Stuart, Kalebra Stuart, Marlon Stuart, Crystal Wiley, Tangy Taylor, Monica Jefferson, Reginald Wiley, Warren Wiley, John Taylor, Jr., Corey Moore, Anthony Bradley, Jamel Griffin and David Jordan; five special friends, Patricia White, Ornitha Neal, Netika Maxey, Evleylee Lindsey and Brandon Poindexter; one stepson, KD Poindexter, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
